Active Ingredients:
Therapeutic actions: Prometrium- Endometrin contains the active ingredient progesterone that is the yellow body's hormone. Progesterone works by causing the transition of endometrium from the proliferation phase into secretory one. After impregnation progesteron creates favorable conditions for the fertilized egg development. Progesterone decreases the affectability and contractility of the womb and uterine tubes muscles as well as stimulates the development of the lacteal gland.
Indications: Prometrium- Endometrin is used to treat the following conditions:
- Conditions caused by insufficiency of progesterone
- Premenstrual stress syndrome
Dysmenorrhea
- Mastopathy
- Premenapause
- Deficiency of progesterone in premenapause
- Substitute therapy of menapause(in combination with estrogen medication)
For the intra-vaginal application:
- Substitute hormonotherapy with the nonfunctioning ovaries in the case of the complete absence of progesterone (with the blood donation of egg cells)
- The maintenance of lutein phase during the preparation for the extracorporeal fertilization
- The maintenance of lutein phase in the spontaneous or induced menstrual cycle
- Sterility as a result of the lutein phase insufficiency;
- The prophylaxis of miscarriage as a result of progestin insufficiency;
- The threat of pregnancy disruption
- Endocrine sterility
Contraindications and cautions: You should not use this medication:
- If you have hypersensitivity to progesterone
- In 2 or 3 pregnancy trimester
- Kidney or liver failure
